A Lull With Lols & Rage

I'm sorry, as per usual, for the interruption in service.
In H4773r related excuses(news) we had ANOTHER successful S.G.I.S.Con: This year with less stress!

In less exciting turns of events my store is going out of business which means  I will be job hunting in between rushing around trying to sell every last fixture and piece of product up until the last day of the month to help recoup losses for the owners. As well as getting my official paperwork into each of the School Districts to begin subbing. Oh yea (short rant) and while we were gone at S.G.I.S.Con mysterious persons were in our room and we have yet to interrogate our roommates as to the actual events, meaning I will want to focus even more in finding replacement employment after my store closes and then moving out shortly thereafter. Because I am tired of this bullshit.

As per Joesky's Law, here are some cool  things I enjoy:
For those of you who may have missed it I am still listening to Nerd Poker and if you haven't yet, here's the link to Ep 9? Anyway, don't listen tot he episode if you haven't heard them all yet, but listen to the "crazy shit" clip lower on the page about Sark's fave story about an old TSR spy game. It's awesome.
http://www.earwolf.com/episode/the-survivors/

And then, get yo SWAG on! Steampunk Writers & Artists Guild!
http://steampunkwriters.ning.com/
Gonna get maself up in there before the end of the spring so I can start getting feedback on some pieces I need to get fleshed out.

And I'm starting up a couple D&D games again Friday & Sunday. Friday should get jumping here this next week. I'm DMing, get this, a high level Pathfinder game SET IN Eberron! Yay setting conversions!
And Sunday should also be Pathfinder set in Golarion BUT we had some discussion of doing a Vampire: Dark Ages (yes OLD ASS White Wolf) game. we voted off that because we only had one physical book, BUT, Moose may let me borrow his AND I might just use a pdf of the book I have and run a print off of it and use that as a "ghetto" book. It could work, yeah?

There ya go guys, sorry to not touch base but I will try to find some time to make a buffer of posts with my usual fare of nerdness as I am prepped to be busy as hell the next few months with birthdays and cons and adjusting to a new schedule with subbing and whatever job I acquire next.
Later H47ites!

HOLY BALLS BUSY

Don't worry, not dead, just Terminally busy (and no, not on Termenus, as much as I would like)

And also, unfortunately it's not about anything in particular I havn't talked about previously or care to expound upon.

For those that REALLY MUST KNOW, I had a sort of family emergency that put me out of wack for a good two days solid, and then on top of work and rehearsal, our store is at the Cow Palace again this weekend for the Gun Show, so that kept us busy as well, AND T1nk finally opened all three of her shows over the last two weeks, so of course I had to go see those, usually after work, after fight call's on Saturdays, or even taking her to rehearsal, doing some reading while I waited for her to be finished (as wireless is spotty out at the farm, I could not really work on the blog).

Just as reminders though:

T1nk

Me

and then we're both going down to SDCC and will actually be spending most of our time at G4m3rCon!!!

Choir is NOT Lame

I don't know if this will do anything for anyone's opinion, but I am huge fan of Bards and would admit approx half of my characters (a solid dozen total since '04)had a splash of Bard if not full progression.
I do agree that Bards, ESPECIALLY 3.0/3.5, are notorious for their terribleness. However, I am a huge proponent of the storyteller/chronicler archetype. As an adventurer or "princess saving bloke" they are not intended to fill main roles BUT, I would like to give a shout out to Paizo up on Pathfinder for re-working the class into something that doesn't totally suck.
If you care, I like THIS for new rule set & mechanics ANDDDD THIS GUY for an excellent build reference that gears a bard build towards 4th party member in a 4 person party.
As far as singing or playing the lute or even storytelling (as I've utilized it in my most recent builds) as a skill set for adventuring? That's not the mindset I've taken over the last decade. To me, and I would argue other "bard enthusiasts" agree, a bard is a party member who can combat, cast or know stuff just as well as anyone else in the group, BUT can also inspire his fellows and belittle his foes with great ease.
I would argue, it's sort of like a High School English teacher with a History Minor. It's not a necessary aspect of the beast, but it can definitely lend insight and inspiration that would not otherwise come into affect.

In a less metaphory example, I have built, and seen bards built, into things that can outcast equiv level wizards and out melee equiv level fighters. Honestly. Some of us like our PVP. No not as far as firepower per spell, nor as blow to blow, BUT, when executed correctly, winning wizards duels and mortal combats(every now and then our group gets really into arena type encounters).
Ran Dansin XIX, Thorin & Shingen. And GUESS WHO RUNS THE PARTY
Hope it wasn't too much of a ramble, but there's my bit.

Sick Day

So, I'm sorry. But it's one of those weeks where I got nothing. Well, maybe not entirely, I have PARTS of things, but no one has ever expressed an interest in those things from me.

SO. here's another post letting you know I might not post this week, but I will try. If not, I'll attempt to compensate with a double post next week, you know, usual+memeOrable, or perhaps even something else shiney. Who knows.

If you really must know, some of it has to do with the fact a member of my family has fallen particularly ill and my clan requests my presence. Although nothing new nor usually enough to put me off my posts (as many of you know my dedication to my adoring public is paramount in my life [some of this is true, some snark, believe whichever you like]) in this particular case I can focus on very little, save for the particular events going on where the bulk of my bloodline are gathered. If you REALLY want details, feel free to ask. Otherwise, I shant bore you.

Well, maybe not all bad can come of this. check this out for a diversion: For maximum effect Watch it huge in HD on youtube since my anchor bar over to the right likes to smash some of my vids. . . .

And if you like that, GO NOW and watch it on Hulu, or wherevs. and keep your eyes peeled here, FB or Twitter for more, as I'm working with several cosplay entities to create various cosplay costumes and groups from the series. I'd make a great Blue Rose, dontchya think?

Thanks again h47ites for hanging in there. More later.

Awe Crap Again

So, busy week, business class starting (gettin my diversified knowledge on), a birthday, a company outing, a meet up with a friend of the family, meeting up with a friend who might as well be family, making my new fitness/training regime fit into my schedule and stick to it, trying to find a time marathon a television series in order to write a post here, trying to review something here, trying to keep things updated.
Sometime ya just go Cuckoo! (ty SJSU TRFT archive)
Any suggestions welcome, such as any Nerdcore artists to review that I have not already, Nerdy topics to discuss, intriguing memes I have not covered. Feel free to comment or email (or even text if ya got my numbahs) and we'll see what tickles my synapses, eh? Dirty.

Stay calm, I will do my best to post a 3rd 4 t3h nrrd before end of month & def an additional post this week, even if only a memeorable. Thanks for readin' H47ites!

But Then I got High

Quite the opposite actually. More like "and then I got low."
I have a few things in the pipe to post (like-ya-do) but as of last night I did not have the UMPH to thump away at the keyboard until a semblance of a post appeared, I would rather write something I might actually want to read later.
(I have noticed that often, maybe it's just narcissism, but when I dig through back posts to find something to show off or whatever, I will find myself READING my own posts and thinking "wow, this is GOOD." But then of course, who else would I appreciate the writing style of more, than myself?)
I will do my best to throw a "real" post up before midnight tonight and I have a couple Meme-orables, so there will be that thurs/fri at the VERY least.

Thanks for hanging in there with me H47ites!

AGGAAIIN!?!?

shit is a happening, and I'm in the middle of it. I have no idea when I will have a few hours free to write anything, this is being posted between class and performance after being out late playing a D&D pick up game. Heh, oh, the nerd life is a hectic one.
Stay weird, space cowboys . . . .
We be g33ks, peace!
