Doctor's Note

Yay Double Post Week. If I'm feeling fiesty we might even get a Meme-Orable up in here before next Tuesday. I know!, Crazy Talk.

BUT! I am sick and a little delirious but that's okay because THE DOCTOR IS TAKING CARE OF ME!

Otherwise I have been distracted by Penny Arcade's Strip Search because I love it and T1nk has a serious girl crush on Erika Moen, who is a contestant. Other distractions include getting back into Magic the Gathering(Yes I've been watching these. We play them at work, it's awesome), trying to be a good Game Master to two games(read: bulding NPC's and puzzles & clues every week) as well as reading a good friends original manuscript.
So, staying busy and staying Nerdy, I will try to expound upon them and so forth in the future, give you that insight that I THINK you're here to get.

A Lull With Lols & Rage

I'm sorry, as per usual, for the interruption in service.
In H4773r related excuses(news) we had ANOTHER successful S.G.I.S.Con: This year with less stress!

In less exciting turns of events my store is going out of business which means  I will be job hunting in between rushing around trying to sell every last fixture and piece of product up until the last day of the month to help recoup losses for the owners. As well as getting my official paperwork into each of the School Districts to begin subbing. Oh yea (short rant) and while we were gone at S.G.I.S.Con mysterious persons were in our room and we have yet to interrogate our roommates as to the actual events, meaning I will want to focus even more in finding replacement employment after my store closes and then moving out shortly thereafter. Because I am tired of this bullshit.

And I'm starting up a couple D&D games again Friday & Sunday. Friday should get jumping here this next week. I'm DMing, get this, a high level Pathfinder game SET IN Eberron! Yay setting conversions!
And Sunday should also be Pathfinder set in Golarion BUT we had some discussion of doing a Vampire: Dark Ages (yes OLD ASS White Wolf) game. we voted off that because we only had one physical book, BUT, Moose may let me borrow his AND I might just use a pdf of the book I have and run a print off of it and use that as a "ghetto" book. It could work, yeah?

There ya go guys, sorry to not touch base but I will try to find some time to make a buffer of posts with my usual fare of nerdness as I am prepped to be busy as hell the next few months with birthdays and cons and adjusting to a new schedule with subbing and whatever job I acquire next.

NOT "A Very Special Post"

I decided to stop blogging.
No really, I was telling friends & family I was done and had lost the mojo.
BUT!
I think I was depressed, considering events in my life and the workload on top of it, plus family, ya know. Sometimes life kicks you in the balls. SO, you can either sit there and catch your breath, which there's no shame in doing, but once your able to breathe again and your voice comes back down to a normal register, you can either CONTINUE to sit there and cry and wail and get mad that someone jammed your jewels, OR, you can get up, check your junk, and keep moving. So, I grabbed myself over the last week or so, and I'm ready to crack out a couple posts and start into it again, I have some new ideas for 3rd 4 t3h nrrd, and some major posts planned, so, stick around all ye h47ful, or FEED MEH! So all the crazy content comes straight to you as it's posted. Thanks for those who believe, I will try to not let you down!

Yeah, so. I keep telling you guys how busy I am, and I still am, so, sorry the Blog suffers, but until it starts making me money (hint, hint, hit the "donate button over there on the right and throw me some doll-hairs!) I have to go to work, and look for more work so I can afford a car so I can go to work some more, you know, "responsible" things. pht.
Enough Complaining though, i wanted to let you know why there STIULL hasn't been a 3rd 4 t3h Nrrd this month. It's because I have not had a single day this month so far where I had more than 6 hours to myself. No, it does not take that long total for me to write a 4rd for t3h nrrd post, but it does take that much time to do my normal morning catching up on feeds, feeding myself, doing theatre catchup stuff (because as a Fight DIrector I actually have things to do after rehearsals that involve yelling at actors, politely asking other designers to please stop screwing with my choreography by changing their designs, and making sure my weapons . . . exist, and then are not slightly defective (anticipated), configured in ways I hadn't anticipated, and dangerous.
Crap, there I go complaining again. Anyway, yeah, to flesh out a proper review can take minimum of 2 hours, and has taken me up to 8 when I didn't have an artist to start with.

But! Worry not, to compensate for the "blah blah blah" noise and the gripeing, I hereby supply you with a "cool things" dump, as per "Joesky's Law"

The Six SuperVillains of Nerd Culture
I am friends with 4 out of the six, and find it . . . interesting they chose a female as "The Imposter." and Although I would readily agree that the majority of "Imposters" are female (I believe due to the readily social nature of a lot of the Nerd Net-culture), I know a lot of Lady Nerds who might take offense to it being a female there, or perhaps I post that "the Imposter" & "The Bro" are simply the same Villain, just gender personified, which, we see a lot in super heroes/villains.


I really like it. The first time I could recall seeing this particular art style was in The AniMatrix and I really enjoy it. I also like the Asian flavor to the characters, except maybe Bane, perhaps they do more with him.


AAAnnnddd, I can't get this fucking song out of my head and neither can you. And I hate to admit it, I really enjoy it.

Ab Sense

Was prepping for & just got back from San Diego.
Will post when I have some time, should be . . . I don't know as I still need to buy a new car (WHOO!!), junk the old car (meh), find time to take the CBEST (meh) and find time to acquire over half a dozen lightsabres while working and rehearsing (woo-ack!) all while trying to catch up on a weeks worth of feeds (woo!)

Holdups

Imma shoot straight with ya H47ites. I know I'm behind on my 3rd 4 t3h nrrd, even though i have one researched, & I know my updates have been spotty and random. I know it sounds like I have a serious case of the Piro's Disease (see Trope  ) but honestly, Life has hit me in the balls harder than usual.
Dead car, sick grama, feeble mother who can't perform tasks needed to quell grama, rehearsal, fight directing at rehearsals, building set for rehearsals, work at a job where we HAD full strength but 3/4 of staff now have second jobs that prioritize over this one, leaving myself and the manager with the most flexible schedules, AND I HAVE A SHOW, plus trying to find time to take the CBEST so I can start a "real job" while I start on my Masters Degree. Oh yeah, and we're going to Comic Con next weekend and literally only have 1/3 the funds to pay for it all.

For those that REALLY MUST KNOW, I had a sort of family emergency that put me out of wack for a good two days solid, and then on top of work and rehearsal, our store is at the Cow Palace again this weekend for the Gun Show, so that kept us busy as well, AND T1nk finally opened all three of her shows over the last two weeks, so of course I had to go see those, usually after work, after fight call's on Saturdays, or even taking her to rehearsal, doing some reading while I waited for her to be finished (as wireless is spotty out at the farm, I could not really work on the blog).

Quite frankly, I don't care, and I'm sure none of you do.
So, you ever have one of those really nice long vacations/weekends off, and don't seem to be able to get anything done? Yeah, I'm there. So, Imma talk about WoW.

Ribeye loves all the animals . . . ALL of them. Especially ones that have the proper animation for attacking flying mobs.

There are STILL very WIERD things going on in the hills north of Thunder Bluff on the way to Stonetalon. I can't find the screenshots right now, but if anyone cares, let me know, I'll find it. Last I checked, the rabbits were carrying axes in their mouths, most of them the size of gnomes, and they were one-shotting prairie dogs. Oh, and before that, the prarie dogs had on kaiser hats and were wielding rifles. And now that I look at the pic from that old link . . WHEN WE GONNA GET DUAL WIELD GUNS BLIZZ!?!?!?! Or, back int he day, Necrus & I would wax philosophical on how one would design a pole-arm/rifle and just have it fill up all three weapon slots, cool, right? Ah well.

It appears Mists will be one "small" expansion with numerous patches that are the "sequels/continuing storyline that the player will be taken through as war ravages Azzeroth once more, the War between it's peoples once more, not a "greater" enemy like in the past. I'm down, sounds immersive, and I'm fairly sure the rumor that there will be a Battle For Ogrimmar will result in Hellscreams dethroning, I am DOWN!
I'm always tempted to join a new beta, but I think I'll sit this one out as well.

I've started heavy archeology, Pvping again and Moose has dragged me into some of the LFraids for some QUICK raids. Fun times, actually, gotta get that welfare gear! I am very scared at how well I am doing in PVP and raids. My dps is decent to good and as I continue to reforge/gem/chant my gear into fine tuning my dps can only improve.

As for PvP, I hadnt really gone into a BG since a few months after Cata hit. I think, two patches agoe? But, the bug up and bit me and I found myself in some BG's. AND I WAS OWNING EVERYTHING. I really cant explain it, and I'm not entirely bragging, I'm mostly sharing my amazement.

Manslayer goes for a swim . . . through the air . . . through Ogrimmar. Like ya do!

And of course, gettin mah raid  on has been good, flexing that teamwork muscle. Im actually looking to level a bunch of ttons all at the same time with Tink & other RL friends. Just ALL KINDS of WoW, all the time. Lets see if I have any fun WoW links . . . . I like this one and am working through the backlogs of the blog.

More of the Same

So how bout them regular updates that just run a little late? eh?: Yeah, How bout them? Our bathroom is getting new tile today. we found out yesterday. and our rug is getting pulled out and replaced with particle board Monday. SO! I have to get 3 pieces of furniture a day out of my room before I go to work each day. Good times.
I will try to touch up & post things when I'm not at home and have some down time, but, if I'm at home, I'm throwing things out of the room. Sorry guys. Hang in there. I will have new posts up before the 5th of March, Guaranteed.

Late Post Week

Yeah, yeah, I know. I was doing so well, too. Honestly though, I'm not feeling so hot and having trouble focusing. quite frankly, if I AM sick, it will be the 4th time this year so far, kind of ridiculous. I do have a weekly post planned, I just dont have the brain space to type it all out, PLUS, I have several MemeOrables ready to be polished & scheduled, so, hopefully no drop in quantity of content, just running a little late this week. Busy H47

As opposed to my normal excuses as to why I have not kept my vaguely normal schedule, this time it is because I have been busy (normal excuse, I know) running around doing errands, getting Fight directing gigs lined up, and moving stuff back and forth around my room because we will have to pull all our stuff out of our room to get the carpets redone from the busted water heater.

I honestly have several posts lined up, ready to be rumbled, and hopefully, I can take Monday night to crack a few out and schedule them for you.

Where U at, h47?

And what's with all the "urban" style post titles? Well, they're quick and I feel they accurately portray the hectic lifestyle I have come across the last three weeks. Worry not H47ites, I am working on a fore-log of my usual droll and drivel to keep this site chok full of the usual vitriol and fan-fawning we've come accustomed to.
Now, why have my post suddenly gone more erratic than usual and not even weekly as has been in the past? well, I will tell you.

After working retail during holidays, which is a pain, anyone who's done it can tell you, I spent a week in So-Cal getting schooled in the myriad of ways of simulated violence for stage & screen, as my previous post informed.
Then, when I got home, I was greeted by a disgruntled cat who had apparently grown rather fond of me and acted out in protest to my absence by peeing everywhere. In between returning to work and a trip to the vet, several cleaning bouts were needed immediately.
With no rest for the wicked, last night, AFTER Theatreg33k/t1nk's callback for Sylvia,

we drove over the hill to a Lords of Ancient Sin meet up hosted by my "brother from another mother" Moose, which included a lovely dinner and blatant sexual advances from and to anyone and everyone who wished to utter "your mom."

I am currently suffereing from D&D withdrawals but I should be able to remedy that tonight as my regularly scheduled table top gaming should resume this week. As should our normal schedule of posts beginning next Tues, as well as a 3rd 4 t3h Nrrd for Jan. and I will do my best to include something else Nerdy & musical to make up for a lack of Nerdcore from last month. I have plenty stewing in my drafts, I merely need to distill them for presentation. I hope you can contain yourselves until then. Thank you all again for your patience and understanding . . . and if not, well, go away then.

U Ded H47?

No, I assure you all, I'm not dead. Last week was holiday's so my job had me in a tizzy, then family for the holidays, and NOW I am typing this from Culver City. I am so sore right now. And I have 6 more days of it to look forward too. I will try to post some of the work we're doing. I think one of the teachers, the one teaching us rapier & dagger, is also a film guy, so he's been recording us and will probably post our stuff online.

What a hoot. Sorry I've been behind, just busy. I think though I MIGHT have some time this week to write between 10 hour days of constant fight training as I don't have access to WoW. Imma go into withdrawals.

I'm sorry guys if things are a little goofy lately but the season this year has been particularly busy and tricky for me. (if you really want to hear me complain I have an excellent email where I bitch till Doc Daneeka says I have it hard, let me know if you'd like to read it.) So I MIGHT miss an update next week and I KNOW I missed 3rd for t3h nrrd so far, but I will try to cook something up music&nerd wise before the first. Also, I don't know how much free time I will have AFTER the 25th, as If I'm not at work I will be in L.A. till the 3rd taking a stage combat intensive class. Cool, right? I know.

Phenomena Dump

So, last week I PROMISED I would post again before Tuesday. Her it is and because I have had some issues with work and classes and families I wasn't able to finish any longer posts with more meat.
Also because I was trying to finish two chapters AND make a level 13 one shot for two gunslingers and a were-polar bear Ranger with a boar animal companion plus one "other thing" which dropped out last minute.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about   START HERE   and come back when your thuroughly addicted.

P.S. In my constant need for things I can not currently afford I have fallen in love with TAD gear in San Francisco. And does anyone have any good explanation on why the section of San Francisco is called DOGPATCH

As for other goofy semi-hardcore/boy scout, mil-spec stuff, . .  I complained recently that for lanyard beads on knives its a real "yo dawg" with skulls out there, but then THIS SKULL IS NAMED YORICK so the inner theatre/lit nerd in me goes, That's okay, cause it makes you better.


I really liked this video, and mad kudos to alternative actors (wheel chair? little person? FUCK YEAH!). But, I'm gonna be honest, I don't know how long they rehearsed or blocked, or what sort of training there was or how much they cared, but the fights and the sabre hilts felt a little weak. They were sufficient, I got the jist and it could have been MUCH worse, but, I expected a bit more.
