Yay Double Post Week. If I'm feeling fiesty we might even get a Meme-Orable up in here before next Tuesday. I know!, Crazy Talk.
BUT! I am sick and a little delirious but that's okay because THE DOCTOR IS TAKING CARE OF ME!
Thats right! A whole EP about Zelda and its NAME YO OWN PRICE! Get-it get-it!
Otherwise I have been distracted by Penny Arcade's Strip Search because I love it and T1nk has a serious girl crush on Erika Moen, who is a contestant. Other distractions include getting back into Magic the Gathering(Yes I've been watching these. We play them at work, it's awesome), trying to be a good Game Master to two games(read: bulding NPC's and puzzles & clues every week) as well as reading a good friends original manuscript.
So, staying busy and staying Nerdy, I will try to expound upon them and so forth in the future, give you that insight that I THINK you're here to get.
And if you want some real deep shit, here, this should make you cry, I need to see this as soon as I can, check the trailer . . .
Welcome to the things that are going through my brain. I know, not nearly as dirty as you'd think. Either way, if you're not sure, poke it with a stick, and if it looks scary, don't mess with it. - Curator H4773r

Not Quite a 3rd Part 2
What the hell is this part two business? Dont read my blog eh? HERE'S PART 1!
Mega Ran & Doctor Awkward @ the DNA lounge!
My Two days of Awkward continued from Sunday into Monday.
I rolled up to The City and strolled up to DNA and made it up the steps with a few minutes to spare.
Dr. Awkward kicked it off with great aplomb and style.
Honestly, I'm not sure if I can continue to write about certain artists performances when all I can say is "great, awesome, WHOO!" about their sets.
AND Int80 IS NOW A BAY AREA HOMIE AND HELPED PERFORM "KUNG FU"
DURING AWKWARD'S SET!!!!!!!
After that I found my date for the evening, a good friend of mine, Mac. I tasked her to pick targets and I would be her wingman for the eve. Apparently she wasn't too taken with my first choice for her, probably for the best.
While A_Rival rocked it I began my Merch-table networking/schmoozing/fanboying. And Urizen also went crazy! Very metal.
I snagged a copy of Black Materia because I didn't realize the day before that the Album "Black Materia" had a white cover, oops. It's cool, Random signed it for me!
I then scoped the tour poster and had to have that happen, Random then tasked me with with collecting signatures of every performer present. I did not succeed but I did get a few.
But I also had a bit of clever the day before in thinking, "oh man, I really like getting shirts and CD's signed but they sort of hard to show off and be like 'look at this cool thing with cool things on it!' and then have then get destroyed/washed repeatedly . . ." But then I was like . . "ooh, maybe I should have them sign MY NES! - - - No, that's dumb, it's hard to carry it around, if you drop it, hard to show people as they'd have to be in it's presence . . I KNOW! I have extra copies of old NES game, I can fit it into a large pocket and even if I drop it or whatever, it has less mass and wont break into a million heavy peices! BRILLAINT!"
I have some serious stalking to do now, I need ALL THE NAMES emblazoned onto this one Cartridge!
I then wanted to straight up donate to Dr. Awkward because sometimes music appears online and I want to honestly buy it but am broke at the time. So seeing these guys live is my opportunity to be like, "I have monies today, take them so I can not feel guilty 'choosing to pay 0.00 dollars' on Bandcamp when I really want to give you 15 and get a full CD in a jewel case, ya heard?"
And Doc Awk, humble as always was like, "nah man, take some merch for your cash!" So I snagged a mixtape sampler, which I gave to my sister (she LOVES MC Frontalot's "Start Over" yeah, that's right, my sister likes Nerdcore deep cuts, I'm so Indy) and a shirt THAT ISNT EVEN AVAILABLE ONLINE! See?
And then, as Bit Brigade started their AWESOMENESS I got a call that said I should head home, which turned out a good thing as 101 was shrunk down to ONE LANE! I don't give a fuck that it was 11pm on a Monday night it's 101 AND IT WAS ONE LANE!?!?!? Oh yeah, I didn't get any of the sigs from Urizen because they were post performance and I like to give performers some time to breathe and come down before I start bombarding them with fanboyness.
But Otherwise, the show was a blast and I can't wait to see any of these guys again on-stage or off as Nerds be Nerds and we should all hang out sometime.
P.S. I'm not gonna say anything is official or even "in the works" or anything, I'm just gonna say the words . . which sound fun and may not mean anything at all . . .
Doctor Awkward at Fanime
I'm just gonna leave that there and TRUST me, I will let you know if any combination of the above comes to any sort of fruition.
Thanks again for reading H47ites!
And here's some vid from their show in so cal before the weekend I saw them...

Not Quite a 3rd Part 1
Day one was in my favorite metropolitan areas SAN JOSE!, next to one of my favorite centers of learning, SJSU.
This concert was a bit unique from the typical venues that "small bands" perform in as this was at ROCKAGE SJ an awesome video game and Indie music fest that goes the entire weekend (ferreals gonna attend the next one). This year it was held at the San Jose Woman's Club, an awesome 20s-30s style building tucked up past SJSU.
I had it all planned out, I even made a facebook event (for any of you who know me personally you know how much I LOATHE Facebook, so, big deal) and I was gonna roll down there and be boss cause, ya know, home turf, PARTY! Little did I realize in my ignorance of cultural diversity, it was also Chinese New Year and everyone else had plans. But WHATEVA, I slow rolled around the place a couple times blasting Zealous1 looking for parking but decided to park in one of my favorite parking garages and strolled over to the event. "First 50 at the door receive free Wii Guitar!" I was among those first 50, B-day present for my Sister! (I no have Wii, she do).
I thought I'd be there a little early so I could see Doctor Awkward and then watch MegaRan's set. APPARENTLY Mega Ran went up first and was the followed up by Doc. I think it had something to do with the fact Ran had to get to the Grammys. So I got to see Random's set first and then watched a very intimate set by Awk. Would you like to watch it!?
HERE!!!! is the Twitch.tv feed of it plus the other acts that played that day and some interviews, all kinds of fun. check it!
After Awk's Set I camped the merch table for some quality time to chat. So many questions and of course, as soon as you get there, you forget them all.
It's cool, talked with DJ DN3, a pro producer and all around cool cat, while grabbing some swag, but the main event of this trip was the LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 15(13) special box set of Doctor Awkwards Discography!
I have friends who are terribly averse to unboxing videos so here are unboxing PICTURES! Check it out.

I'll tell you. Fun! I'll be honest, it had a "wierd" vibe as it was like RIGHT after lunch ("morning" for most nerds. amirite!?) and there weren't a lot of people at the event yet as it was earlier in the day BUT, consummate professionals all, Random & Doctor Awkward gave a full 100% for the hardy few of us who came out to see them specifically.
I'm glad to pass the few bucks I could to Random, DJ DN3, & Doc Awk to show my appreciation for coming out to my home town and hope they come back again as I hear tell SJ has a thriving indie scene that welcomes all sorts of acts.
STAY TUNED FOR PART 2! . . . .

THINGS!
I know! I know. Almost two weeks, but don't worry. I FEEL IT! I feel like there may be things in the future for me to truly expound upon.
TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!
And since the only things I want to talk about are somewhat "serious" things and I promised a silly post, here are things I've found that I love and perhaps you have not come across all of them already.
Enjoy . . . .
Confession: I liked Sucker Punch.
And you should have as well!!!! Here's why.
Boo-busters
And in a return to the ever present discussion about "girl stuff" I saw this awesome post from the Mary Sue
and I looked at the bow and thought. I would rock that bow even though it does have pink on it, it actually makes it cool. So there!
See!
In other news. IMMA GO SEE DOC AWKWARD TWICE THIS WEEK CAUSE I DON'T GIVE SHIT THAT I'M BROKE!
Wanna know why?
THATS WHY!
Oh yeah, he's in SJ Sunday around noon, and then at DNA in the City Monday Night. Hit me up if you want to come along NERDLIFE!!!
Oh yeah, and there's this awesome thing . . .
And I realize in retrospect I could have broken these things into separate posts BUT FUCK YOU ITS MY BLOG and they Might not have been topical (THERE IS NO CREAM FOR THAT!) by the time it posted so there!
Later H47ites! I now have to flesh out a game I'm not ready for while jonesin to play wow while trying to be properly productive. We'll see how it goes.

FIRST!
. . . POST! . . . of the year.
Heaven help us, I passed my CBEST, which means I can corrupt . . I mean influence young impressionable minds legally through the California educational system. HA! Or conversely, The little overly-hormone'd bastard that I once was may now torment me as an acne'd avatar of vengeance.
Hopefully to use the boost in income from subbing and potentially teaching full time to beef up my stage combat armory, as well as continue my certification in several disciplines AND get back into musicals. Almost got a callback to a production of Funny Girl in the area but due to a scheduling conflict I will see about auditioning for their next production because . . .
I will be signing up for FOUR panels to host at Fanime this year. So stay tuned for that.
Some fun stuff so far this year you might want to check out . . .
STANDARD ACTION IS BACK YAY!!!! For some previous discussions, here & here.
For those of you who miss my usual music blurbs, I do apologize, I just haven't had anything come along that juiced my ear hard enough to move me back into slinging artists with the same zeal as in the past.
however . . .
NURSEHELLA ISNT DEAD! YAY!!!
She released a second album finally, getit!-getit!
Also, if you like to CONSTANTLY have FRESH BEATS and free? As well as even better beats for a small fee, ADAM WARROCK! Go get all the music, then listen to it. If you do, you win an acheiv that's very difficult to acquire.
And also, as per a couple tweets
NOOO!!! DOC AWK WAS QUITTING MUSIC NOOOO!OOOO!O!O!
but then
SO YAYAY!!!! DOC AWKWARD ISN'T QUITTING BECAUSE HIS MOM TOLD HIM TO NOT BE DUMB! HAH!
So go get some of his music so he knows how much we love his music making abilities!

Worry not my Nerdcore Audiophiles, I still have artists to cover, but this month I don't feel I have the resources to do them justice. However, in their place I offer free beats I find excellent with an attempt at coherence. Ha, who'm I kidding. No attempt. Lets jump in shall we?
Doctor Awkward has a newish site. and almost ALL of his albums can be acquired HERE (yes, even his latest which asks for a donation, you can donate 0, but I donated more)
That Buzzin joint of "This is Not a Cover" is SO HOT, I listen to it at least 5 times a week since it dropped, I wake up with it in my mind.
I can't stop chuckling to myself or thinking to myself, "werd" every time I hear "Wish I Made That."
Grab ALL that DocAwk hawtness. DO EET!!
What Hater? Don't beleive me? Too much of a bitch to click through links? FINE, click this
if you don't believe me and listen to it while you keep reading. P.S. there's a hot track on his main page that's all DC flavored, just in time for the new Arkham City Game. Go, listen to it.
Klopfenpop has a HUGE selection of free, single track downloads HERE. Go snag some. At the top of the page (for all you haters who don't read) he blatantly says how most of his catalog is on that site for free. Enjoy. Oh yeah, He's also done beats for many artists across the board, includeing . . .
MegaRan, Yeah, He's kind of a big deal, and his ENTIRE album "Black Materia" is available for download in single track form HERE, OR, be cool and give him some cash to get a actual, physical copy. Madness, I know. Oh yeah, Did I mention he's on Tour with MC LARS, MC CHRIS and . . . .
ADAM WARROCK, Not Adam War, Not Adam WarCock, actually Eugene Ahn, But musically Rocks! For one mixtape Ive' been bumpin along all over the SillyCon Valley REP Left Coast Marvel. OR, a TON of single tracks all for the Libre (thats Free, as in "swag") plus two more albums and links to everything else HERE. But, Most recently he's been hypeing an EPIC MIXTAPE for all you space cowboys stickin it to the Alliance, SCREW "U" day! Here's a sample song,
but honestly, one of the tracks that REALLY tweaks my blood pumper is "Out of Gas (ft. Jesse Dangerously)". download HERE to hear what I'm talking about! The original soundtrack was masterfully mixed into fantastic beats. The messages are reverent and connected to the property. Apparently there was a critic-tweet about it being too heavy, and honestly, I can see where that came from, but conversely, it was a very serious story, it's just that the story was told so well that the characters came alive and were able to convey the humor in the pain. In summation, I believe there was EXACTLY the right amount of the same in the Browncoats Mixtape.
And YET ANOTHER crew that gets my head rockin like a night at the Roxbury is SOUP OR VILLAINZ. As they spit out music continually they keep their broke fans happy with awesome joints, such as the older Oxymoron: nerd/rapper & Ready To Fallout. and more recently, up on bandcamp with In the Streets (direct download) And Villainz Are Everywhere (Direct dowload) . What, need a sample? Needy bastards . .
Here, have more . . .
WHAT!?!? MORE!?!?!? Gluttoness Bastards, FINE!
Get pulling and I expect to hear some Nerdy beats in your town when I roll through, and NOT just from my ShenaniVan, ya heard me?

Quick query nerdlings;
what do you get when you mix A Dragon, an Marvel Villain, A Doctor, A Clergyman, and a . . . 'Nious?
A Nerdcore supergroup the likes of which not seen since, dare I say? Oh, I dare, Optimus Rhyme.
THE BOSSFIGHTS!!!!!

These bad mofo's formally formed and performed at 2010 Nerdapalooza to a great general reception.
Though there are only a handful of toons bouncing around the intrarwebs they are currently hard at work on their first full length album. I wait with bated ears.
With The Juggernaut thumpin the drums since the 7nth grade, he rolls beats hard and keeps the groups energy kickin. I might even suggest the band perform BEHIND his drum kit so you can see how awesome this dude is. Also, from the vid clips, he's not the quiet shy type, he throws quips an jibes with the others as if he was the front man. I love me some personality.

Jay Bishop has a long and prolific catalog as a string-smith and lends his talents to keep the licks wicked throughout, as well as having the gear and know how to do the mixing and recording for the group.
Along side Bishop is Kevo. The two have been playing together off and on since the day they both picked up stringed instruments. From what I can gather, one of the more subdued members of the group makes for the adorable quiet guy with mystique, right? Yeah, that's an "Almost Famous" reference, deal with it. You can hear in several of the songs his bass tickling antics keep every frequency of the group entertaining.
Zealous1 & Doc tor Awkard I've discussed previously and they both are rumored to have new albums in the pipe in addition to The Boss Fights collaborations.
This crew dons signature black dress shirts and red ties and on occasion thick rimmed glasses in a tribute to the Godfather, and even have a song as such. with such characters in their crew shenanigans are rampant as is evidenced below.
Watching and listening to these guys is a true inspiration and I hope to hear many more great things from them for years to come.

I need a second opinion from the good doctor . . . .
Doctor Awkward!

This cat is fairly new to the scene but he comes with it. He's currently developing his sophomore album and I can't wait for it.
You can get everything you need to know about him, including his first album, at these locations.
I really dig this guy. His rhymes are clean, his flow is smooth, his content is substantial & entertaining, and his production team is solid in there samples and mixes, displaying Doc Awk's skillz very well. I also really like his voice, he can harmonize and sing, not just rap fast and not sound flat. I'm a sucker for all over musicianship and to hear some "singing" in songs can really boost a song for me.
Here's a vid from Nerdapalooza, somewhat self explanatory. The guy who posted the vid laid an audio track on top of it because the mic couldn't pick up Kabuto that well, if you don't know who KTP is or want to hear a clean version of the song, start over here . . .
