It's ON!
Hatein on Paypal because of the Regetsy thing? GOOD! Gimme the money in person, mail me a check, take it to my folks. NO EXCUSES!
I watched CAMP("sequel" to fame), Camp Nowhere, Meatballs, and Addams Family Values(due to thanksgiving, love the turkey day scene). And it doesn't stop there! No horror movies for me, but you can enjoy them if you like. And also, got me some musical inspiration from Mr. Gambino's latest album
and tour.
As of Today I have 8 people total payed up, and I'm confident 3 more after tonight, thats almost half the spots available and I have almost half a dozen more who have said "they're coming" but just need to get me the cash, so get on it.
As I may have mentioned elsewhere, although I may not get my fancy campfire sing-a-longs, arts & crafts, or and end of camp -athalon, what I DO want is to play some Pathfinder Society, so if anyone feels like stepping up and running an adventure path, a module, or even a Beginner Box Bash, please let me know, because if I don't hear from anyone about it, I will set one up myself. No pressure, I would love to set it up and run it myself, just letting you know.
Also, I have been working on changing up the menu for this year, and yes, I am aware we have certain dietary requests so I will try to bring along substitutions or alternatives, Please let me know ASAP if you have issue with the proposed NEW menu as it is flexible and not yet set.
B-fast: cereal, pancakes, egg, bacon, sausage (usual)
Lunch: (usual) sandwich stuffs, ham, turkey, cheese, PB&J, chips
Dinners: STEW! (potentially soups as well & bread bowls, funds permitting, def w/bread if not & salad)
Potato Boats! DIY with sour cream, chili (vegitarian and "con carne"), cheese, chives, butter, etc. again with the salad!
HOT DOGS!! (soy & hebrew national if I get my way) again with fixin's similar to the potato boats
So, ONE WEEK!!! GIMME YO MONEY!! We're going to CAMP!
Welcome to the things that are going through my brain. I know, not nearly as dirty as you'd think. Either way, if you're not sure, poke it with a stick, and if it looks scary, don't mess with it. - Curator H4773r

S.G.I.S.Con 6 Secondary Update
Time rolls on and the weekend of Geekends grows ever closer. As of today we are on track for our regularly Scheduled Shinanigans, However, as always, T1nk & I reserve the right to cancel the Con should things come up (such as shows & other things "blowing up").
In my vain hopes to follow a theme, I will move forward under the assumption this year will be Camp-centric.
So far visions of the following dance through my mind:
-Nightly Camp Fire: to include tales, songs and vague native American/patriotic rhetoric speeches
-Fat Camp Event (Eating contest? There is a sandwich shop & a pizza place just down the road)
-Merit Badges or Beads for different event completions (This I would SERIOUSLY need help with but I think could be a blast)
-Science Camp Event (I'm sure a few of you crazy kids have something a far blast better than baking soda & vinegar volcanoes)
-Arts & Crafts (Underwater Basket weaving actually sounds fun, maybe even 'paint your own miniature' tutorial)
-Official Pathfinder Society Sanctioned Game (click through the links if you have no idea what that is)
AND: Recap of the pertinent info:
Date: January 13-16 2012
January 7 - 16 "Late"
Thanks again to all of you for being the motley band of reprobates I love and I hope to see a whole mess of you there. If you need ANY further info, you should know how, or at least know someone who does know, how to get a hold of me.

This is the Six Month Warning. We have even more people interested than normal this year so call me up, get your cash ready and make sure you remember to "register" as soon as it "opens."
I seriously want to try and have a couple events this year besides our usual D&D game. I'll post a few ideas when the three month mark rolls around and see what you guys think. If you have any ideas of your own, let me know.

H47 Was Closed . . .
Due to AIDS!, I mean, S.G.I.S.Con V.
Sorry about that, Sgiscon kicked my but and all I did yesterday was unload the car and try not to be exhausted. And catch up on twitter, holly hell, it literally took me like three hours. No joke.
Some Hi-lights from the weekend include:
H47-Cake! There will be pics eventually, it was delicious, custom to my specs, delicious, and awesome.
There was Nantleing, it was naughty.
Lack of internet, I assume inspired even MORE nerdery in social capacities.
"Its so adorable I could punch a goblin!"
As well as putting encounter monsters in mason jars, oh yes!
Thats just the tip, as I'm sure you are aware. more to come later this week or perhaps a full recap and some pics for next week, we shall see.

On A Bet
These are two of my buddies Moose (the one in red) and Mario (the one in blue being . . dry humped?) and this pic is titled "Frios Frijoles "I am posting this pic on a bet that has nothing to do with the picture or where it was taken. If you really must know, I will share the story with you elsewhere.
As I've said before, the more obscure the joke, the funnier it is.

S.G.I.S.Con V
Con Five is ALIVE!!
The Theme is TEA PARTY!
The dates are JANUARY 2011, FRIDAY 14nth, SATURDAY 15nth, SUNDAY 16nth, and MONDAY 17nth!
Do not show up before 10 am on Friday please!
Registration is "open" its the same $25 dollars a head. If you can't handle this, contact me or T1nk. If you don't we will assume you are not coming as we will not have your money.
This year T1nk and I are not so hot financially, so we will not be able to help cover costs until people show up, SO, please get me the money by any means possible before or on JANUARY 2011, WEDNESDAY 12th BEFORE WE GO SHOPPING FOR FOOD. This means if you are paying by Paypal make sure to allow for however long it takes for it to process from your bank, into paypal, then into my bank.
If you have issue with paying for foods for the weekend contact us, we will try and work something out.
The cap limit is 25 (TWENTY FIVE!) PEOPLE, just like last year, many couples are slated to attend so get your registration in quick. I will be keeping a tab, so contact me as soon as you send money my way OR/AND make sure I put your name(s) in my book.
So many people enjoy this weekend long nerdcamp that I could not bring myself to cancel it. However, it has gotten progressively more shitty to organize without any pay and worrying about people all weekend so please help me keep putting this shindig together by keeping the drama and bullshit to a minimum. If you have ANY questions about ANYTHING to do with this event, PLEASE contact one of us and we will try to resolve something.
If you magically wish to donate to this event more than registration or even just as a Birthday/Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/Graduation/Guilt Present, we will find a way to recognize you (or not, Epyon Avenger, I'm looking at you) for your contribution, whatever it may be. Contact us if your contribution is not monetary.
Aright kids, lets keep things all "two lumps O' sugar" up in here and have a kickin' Sad Geek In Snow Con V!!

Tired Post, S.G.I.S.Con V
Just as a Note, Registration for Sad Geek In Snow Con Five has not opened yet, nor have I set a date for it to open, AS WELL AS, I'm still not sure it's even going to happen.
DONT FREAK OUT
there are a few factors out of my control that would influence whether or not I would want to have the party, and none of them are linked to anyone or anything to do with the party in the past.
Just bare with me, keep in touch, and stay tuned, I will update you as soon as I know.
until then, something I find, just my style.

S.G.I.S.Con V Theme!

MOVE DOWN! CLEAN CUP! It's Tea Party Time Bitches!!
Sad Geek In Snow Con Five shall be Tea Party Themed!
Blatantly ripping off LoL's (Lisa out Loud) birthday party theme, as well as indulging several genres and my own moniker, we will be having a "spot" on weekend, eh?
I'm still working out some itinerary ideas, but, expect several incarnations and concepts of "tea party" and I think we will be having tea at tea time every day as well as consuming, of course, massive amounts of herb flavored drinks.
So! Registration is not open just yet, but keep your fingers peeled to this blog, updates will be posted soon.

S.G.I.S.Con V Alert!
Yes Kids, Six Months Till we revisit that undisclosed wilderness location for a weekend of debauch & dastardly Nerdiness!
-Tea Party (being A Hatter, this could be totally fun, as I sure you agree)
-Anime/J-Culture (yo aniki, I blought my game-uh cube-eru, maybe we can "hang")
-Wild West (Few people know I wanted to be a Cowboy, & NO! this does not = steampunk)
While I'm on the subject, I don't think I will let Steampunk be an option this year, I'm not saying no altogether, just, a lot of our shenanigans devolve into cross-genres.
OR
-Nerdcore . . . Again (I have a new documentary and new music to share, as well as the attendee make-up changes every year, I would love to expose more to the genre, if I'm allowed.)
Only 25 spots as per last year, so far, $25 Dollar Reg (until Jan 1, 2011) and if this is any sort of an issue contact us immediately. But enough of the SrS Bznz, the real reason I'm posting, in addition to giving notification that ITS ON, is, I don't yet have a theme.
I reserve the Right to proclaim any theme I choose for the Con, BUT . . any and all suggestions will be . . . viewed.
To get things started, A few ideas that have been thrown around are;

S.G.I.S.Con IV Recap
Only 1 month late! Okay, so I lied about blogging the entire Con. I was having too much fun actually being at the Con . . . and Raiding. Heh.A couple resources Care of T1nk The Con Fairy!
If you didn't already know, this year was Star Wars themed. We HAD the Christmas special, but due to technical difficulties we were unable to watch it. However, we did have a showing of "Something Something Something Dark Side" and "Spaceballs" for those who had not been exposed to it's awesomeness.
Overall this year was a success even though there were a few bumps for the management.
We had 2 tv's set up next to each other with a PA system and 5 different systems hooked to them, ACROSS from another TV, with D&D & Laptopery 2 yards to the right and board gaming 1 yard to the left.Upstairs Sexy Chris and myself had set up our desktops (we had raids Saturday & Sunday night. WoW is SRZ BSNZ. true story, while we did cake and they sang happy birthday, I was IN an Ony 10 and they were waiting for me to do cake cause I had mentioned WHY i was gonna have to AFK for a few minutes.) And there were numerous netbooks as well. Oh, and fun fact . . . Idevices (iPhones, iTouches) will suck up your bandwidth like a 50 cent hooker sucks up . . . water. They have to stay hydrated.
Let me correct myself right now, there was no D&D from late Friday night until late Sunday night there was Pathfinder, led by Steve Wes, and half of the Con rolled characters and proceeded to have ridiculous adventures. I will see if I can get a guest post from Mr. Wes detailing the adventure, but if you cant wait, look HERE.

Closing ceremonies went swiftly and the Sad Geek in Snow this year was Mr. Robe Guy, he also donned a snuggy a few times and accepted his new "friend" graciously.

I hope you all had as much or more fun than I did and I will leave you with one last peace of shameless self admiration. This was caught by T1nk/theatreg33k while I was stretching my pipes. You can also hear the shenanigans of the Pathfinder group in the background, just as amusing. Thanks, love.

S.G.I.S.Con 4 is ON!
Yeeeeeaaaaahhhhh. I'm just gonna let that one sit for a second.Aright then, on to business, Its almost that time of year again! Sad Geek In Snow Con!!!
A weekend of blatant and unadulterated geekery in a secluded location somewhere on the western seaboard! There's even a possibility you wont be able to leave the entire weekend nor a few days thereafter! Oh yeah, you proud veterans of this valiant event, you remember!
If you hadn't figured it out yet, *looks up pointedly* This year is Star Wars themed. Plan accordingly, and I'm counting on someone to find a copy of the Christmas special. Eh? So, In case you didn't get enough of that goodness up top, here you go, the flier . . .
And now a message from your friendly mentor Jedi . . . .
AND, if you wish to help promote knowledge of this event, (like to your buddies who cant remember anything but you want them to come along) I whipped up this, just print, cut and distribute . . .

S.G.I.S.Con 4 Spoiler
A friendly reminder to those in the know. SAME BAD PLACE SAME BAD TIME!
I anticipate both trilogies being played the entire weekend, with special screenings of SW-centric movies. I'm hoping for FANBOYS , SPACEBALLS , and maybe even the terrible X-MAS SPECIAL !!!!
I also really want to do a Lightsabre building workshop, and I'm sure we can dig out numerous SW-themed games to play.
More itinerary as we get closer to the event.

S.G.I.S.Con: The Tale
" WTF is S.G.I.S.Con?!"
Sad Geek In Snow Convention. A "con" held every year in honor of my birthday at a family cabin. I invite every geek I am buddies with and we assemble in a beautiful section of the wilderness, and stay inside for the entire weekend. well, I do, usually the guests venture farther up the road to some snow and get all cold and wet then come back. good times.
I know, "wow, how pretentious, a 'Con' just for your birthday?" but, if you've ever met me, you know I have great plans, just like anyone else, big dreams. One day I hope for it to actually be a full blown Convention, dedicated to all things geeky! Well, most things. I have often complained how Convention season is in the summer, so I would prefer a winter con, especially if I am the figure head and its soul, its true con type, would be flavored by me and my friends interests.
So, a weekend long get together, by invite only, we have begun doing themes, and vague itineraries, as well as, registration fees (so we can afford food) for room and board.
Of course, being the elitist jerk I am, I wont publicly advertise this Con, but I do extend invitations to friends of friends in the hopes that it continues to be a VERY harmonious event with like minded, yet unique individuals.
So far we have had as many as 25 geeks assembled for the festivities, and I will post synopsis of past S.G.I.S.Cons. Also watch Theatreg33k who posts day by day journals of most of our trips.
