Do You Even Cut, Bro!?

Even though the Blade Shop is no more, it lives on in our hearts, and SWORDS!
So, not only did I need some video of cutting & cheap sword breaking for my Fanime Panel, some of the A.G. Crew (some fave customers included) got together for Cut testing & destroying things!

It was VERY chill sort of munchies and BS fest. We talked of Mall Ninjas* and Bad Unicorns** we'd encountered since our last encounters. Spencer of course dropped a wonderful gem on us, paraphrasing the ridiculous "Do you even lift, Bro?" into a version much more suited for us . . . "Do you even Cut, Bro!?"
and yes, yes we do.

When we got to the part where we were going to break the cheap sword we got all worked up and ready to snap that bad boy . . . and then we had a serious Mythbusters moment where something totally unexpected and awesome happened.

Of course, all those awesome signs we printed over the years for the store and various cons, most of them were printed on one particularly insufferable piece of shit. And finally, our revenge was extracted upon it on that day. Cue ridiculously over-violent rap music (a la Office Space)

Unfortunately the vid wouldn't load of us destroying the printer, maybe to big, I dunno. Might find it later somewhere.

It was a good day (Ice Cube style).
And we plan to do it again before too long as we still have a LOT of tatami mats left over.
*Mall Ninja: (Short version) Someone who has all the tactical apparel and gear, and acts & talks like they've been in the Navy Seals when in fact they were never even in Boy Scouts and odds are they've never even been camping. (Long Answer, honestly, allow for a good, half hour/hour? to read the whole thing. Even if you don't understand the jargon, the good parts are easy enough to understand what's going on)

**Bad Unicorn: Something or someone you always though was funny yet terrible but never though you would ever actually see, like a Mall Ninja, or a person(s) dumb enough to try those horrible sex positions people joke about, or anyone who honestly BELIEVES (not "uses the philosophy in a reasonable manner to live their lives") a certain sci-fi movie or it's content is real (Like believing that we live in The Matrix and that they can Wake Up or something like that). It has been decreed that a "bad unicorn" has a disgusting dildo for a horn, is tattered and diseased like a bad WoW undead horse, and has a cutie mark MLP style that is a dick & balls.

Pros & Cons

Not here, not on our web-comic, nor upon my twitter shall you hear me speak of "i"'s or pads together or conjuctively, apart perhaps, except for just now. Most likely not of "i" anythings as they are merely products that one company happens to put out shine-ily and loudly. I am happy for you if you enjoy them and that's very nice. I prefer other things and being locked into a lifestyle, "i" or otherwise, do not currently work smoothly with other styles and habits.
What the hell was that about!? I'm not entirely sure and I am the one writing it. But that's what you should come to expect by now. On to the real meat of the post.

Con season is kicking up with Wondercon just passed. I was there in partial force as an "Elite Humanoid Lvl. ?? Blade Vendor " (dont let the skull scare you, I was released in BC) (Full force would have been if we had a booth for the blog/comic) and illicitly shouting and hollering about my hard pointy things. Yes, your humble h47 was breaking rules all weekend. Upon closer inspection of the legal jargon(why was I reading the exhibitor contracts, I'll get to that) I found on several Con/exhibitor contracts detail that no barking/hawking/carnival like attractions shall be allowed in the hall. That's right, all my witty quips & yells were not on the up & up.
BUT! being an enthusiast of my place of employ and a consummate con . . . consumer (yay alliteration) my boss-ninja-lady finally relented and suggest I do some Team Leading on our store's Con Team. SO! I began my research as her & I are to meet and discuss various con related things. We shall see in what capacity I will be attending many cons in the future.

The h47 at Wondercon

WONDERCON! From the same people who bring you ComicCon & APE, one San Francisco's well known nerdfests.

Your humble h4773r will be working the Armor-Geddon booth in the exhibitor hall. We've contracted a good Friend of mine to be a booth babe/blade vendor. Also, t1nk will try to do some con-going on Friday & I hope to try and wander the Halls as well. Drop by, say hi, & some steel you should buy!

Old R4n7 (4-17-08)

R4n7 4-17-08

as for me, lord, where to start. well, horny beyond belief, but thats nothing new, damn hormones . . . im only in 2 classes this semester and im still finding it hard to go to them regularly. screen writing is interesting, im working on a semi-autobiographical script chronicling my break up with my ex as well as the rekindling of my love for thaetre, very deep, meaningful and dramatic . . . I HATE IT! i lived it, i dont want to relive it again, thats why i play warcraft and D&D and play dress up no less than 3 times a year.

Speaking of Warcraft, good lord am i addicted. and now, 2 of my friends who dont even play WoW are hooked on the card game, its like Magic The Gathering, only for WoW and they want to play constantly. poor guy,
one of em, (The Blave), has played all the original Real Time strategy versions of Warcraft, so he knows all this back story, but he's never played WoW so hes always like "but hat makes no sense in the old games, this and this was this way" so Tink(theatreg33k) and I have to explain to him "NO! no making sense anymore, WoW has ruined any semblance of plot the game had, get over it!"
But yeah, WAY too much time spent playing that, ive got my 70 mage doing dailies constantly, and a 65 hunter im finally getting up to 70, and a 42 war i need to get up to outland so that guild can get raiding.

THE OTHER class is advanced acting, and well, it should be "excersices and coaching for acting" cause all we do is read scripts, listen to the proffesor, do scenes and play acting games.

I am sound designing for not only a high school show (the odd couple, female version), but for a "real" theatre company, Arclight Theatre and i'll be doing the sound for Twelfth Night, so that should be fun.

ALSO, i recently got a job at Armor-geddon, and i should start monday, that's gonna be interesting. It's gonna be like working at a corporate comic shop, the guy who hired me is really gun-ho about making the store into something great and caring about the store and the product, as well as making sales, in order to keep the store afloat. so more of a commitment then i was looking for in a store, but thats okay, it should be good for me, and i like that in a management staff.

so thats whats up with me.
