The "N" Word: A Nerdy Night of Theatre

https://sphotos-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/561568_659346327409767_358336722_n.jpg
So, as some of you might know, I am a substitute teacher, I am a Fight Director, I am a writer, and I am a HUGE nerd. SO what does one do with this. He has high schoolers perform his works in a geeky variety show.

https://www.facebook.com/events/228582910626680/

That's right, Sept, friday & saturday 6th & 7th, at Leigh High School, San Jose. 7pm preshow, there will be live gaming until start @ 8pm, and it is a fantastically quick show even with almost a dozen "peices" total.

We hope to have special guest fan groups attend, as well as some world renowned cosplayers. Oh yeah, This is a cosplay friendly event as there will be a cosplay contest!
So come in costume and get your nerd on!

Beat That Poor Passed on Equine

I have a much longer post in shambles of an outline that this sort of thing was supposed to cover in great detail, perhaps even some sort of mega arc post that would span several pages.

But I came across a post on a friends tumbler and I had a small thought and felt I needed to elaborate on it in some way that was public.

And I know we see these sort of things and this sort of post ON tumblr, twitter, Facebook.
But this is my platform, my soapbox so here is where it shall be.
 Linky link Linky

But the thought that I had was this.
The "fake geek girl" and "Girly geek" and "cosplay is consent" panels . . . yes, they are exhaustive, sometimes it seems like you can only cover the same topic so many times, "yeah yeah, get over it"
But you know what? No.
Keep hosting it, keep discussing it, keep telling the stories and never believe it doesn't make a difference.

When I was growing up we had the anti-drug campaigns. And we got that propaganda drilled into our heads, "say no to drugs" and now that I'm older, I know that certain, perfectly legal things, are arguably, more dangerous than things that are illegal, but I have come to my own conclusions on that as I've grown. But I believe, that as a result of those campaigns, I stayed away from many substances, legal and otherwise, not out of fear, but out of the education of them. The constant discussion, the knowledge, kept me from going down paths I might have explored had I not had that information available to me.

I think it's the same way with Equal Rights (any variation thereof, and there are a lot. some more relevant to this conversation than others) and that the more we discuss these things, the more conscious we will become of them, and that others will stay conscious of them, and those who grow up after us will look at these things and say "wow, look how silly they were back then. Well, some of these things are cool, but dude, did they have a skewed perspective" much as we do to our past today.

So I guess it comes down to education, as much of my life is centered around. Education and the nurturing of critical thought. Otherwise you are an ignorant animal controlled by emotions, not the enlightened creatures we masquerade as.

Do You Even Cut, Bro!?

Even though the Blade Shop is no more, it lives on in our hearts, and SWORDS!
So, not only did I need some video of cutting & cheap sword breaking for my Fanime Panel, some of the A.G. Crew (some fave customers included) got together for Cut testing & destroying things!

It was VERY chill sort of munchies and BS fest. We talked of Mall Ninjas* and Bad Unicorns** we'd encountered since our last encounters. Spencer of course dropped a wonderful gem on us, paraphrasing the ridiculous "Do you even lift, Bro?" into a version much more suited for us . . . "Do you even Cut, Bro!?"
and yes, yes we do.

When we got to the part where we were going to break the cheap sword we got all worked up and ready to snap that bad boy . . . and then we had a serious Mythbusters moment where something totally unexpected and awesome happened.

Of course, all those awesome signs we printed over the years for the store and various cons, most of them were printed on one particularly insufferable piece of shit. And finally, our revenge was extracted upon it on that day. Cue ridiculously over-violent rap music (a la Office Space)

Unfortunately the vid wouldn't load of us destroying the printer, maybe to big, I dunno. Might find it later somewhere.

It was a good day (Ice Cube style).
And we plan to do it again before too long as we still have a LOT of tatami mats left over.
*Mall Ninja: (Short version) Someone who has all the tactical apparel and gear, and acts & talks like they've been in the Navy Seals when in fact they were never even in Boy Scouts and odds are they've never even been camping. (Long Answer, honestly, allow for a good, half hour/hour? to read the whole thing. Even if you don't understand the jargon, the good parts are easy enough to understand what's going on)

**Bad Unicorn: Something or someone you always though was funny yet terrible but never though you would ever actually see, like a Mall Ninja, or a person(s) dumb enough to try those horrible sex positions people joke about, or anyone who honestly BELIEVES (not "uses the philosophy in a reasonable manner to live their lives") a certain sci-fi movie or it's content is real (Like believing that we live in The Matrix and that they can Wake Up or something like that). It has been decreed that a "bad unicorn" has a disgusting dildo for a horn, is tattered and diseased like a bad WoW undead horse, and has a cutie mark MLP style that is a dick & balls.

I know, almost two full weeks since my last update, BUT STAY TUNED! In this blogs future there is a comic blog, a twitch feed blog, two different blade blogs and a blog about how burritos can effect level progression. A couple of them may be combined into the same blog but trust me, ther is content, I just need to finish a few things, LIKE

Birdie & WoW Cards

Sorry for running this update a little later than usual. Been busy.

I'm helping The Blave with a Musical that is adorable, fun, and really good. I'm not saying it will change your life, but it IS good fun theatre. Go SEE IT! LIMITED ENGAGEMENT!

http://www.leigh.cuhsd.org/cms/lib2/CA01001603/Centricity/Domain/11/bbbirdie.jpg

And also, I've been playing Magic The Gathering a little with T1nk, and playing WoW The TCG A LOT with some of my old guildies.
Just like in ACTUAL WoW we like running instances and raids, so we invest in the "Event Decks" quite a bit. We ran Black Temple recently,
http://client-cdn.crystalcommerce.com/photo/gamenightz/file/125578/large/Black_temple.jpg
and it was fairly cool. Managed to handle it but it was a real good challenge as we kept things moving but it never felt like we were just murdering the event.
I am really stoked to try the "self run" event decks such as the Instances (Classics like Scarlet Monastary, Shadowfang Keep & Deadmines) and the newest, Caverns of Time!
"Self Run" meaning no One Player has to play as the event so all players can get in on the action.
I have a "raid spec'd" Shammy deck that I've been running since the card game came out (with tweaks of course) and now I've been designated the group Druid, so I will be looking into synergies and fun mechanics for that.
Not to mention, the bug is catching a bit at Legends and I hope to be hosting events within a few months, so stay tuned!

Latest in H47's Nerd World

So far I am very intrigued by the new Guardians of the Galaxy thanks to this snipet

But I'm STAYING hooked for Rocket Racoon & Groot!!!. My new fave comic bromance!
I'll be honest, I didn't know much about them, so I asked one of my coworkers for the low down. Apparently Groot drops his catchphrase because "sometimes it makes him bigger" SO of course I ask, "so does he just sit in the bathroom going 'groot groot groot grootgrootgroot' ?" We were unable to come up with a reasonable answer.
Great, now I need to put a half ent and a space marmet next to my psychopathic regenerator and my cajun gentlemen pyro thief.
Oh comics, you crazay.

I made some poor choices at the end of a 1 year hiatus D&D campaign. i.e. my characters running away when the sky opened up with demons and I did not realize the crazy sky giant lord and an older copper? bronze? Brass? were apparently hardcore enough to help seal the rift. SO I had to be like "my leyline drood is soooo attuned to the planet I realize there's still a chance and I come back" but I STILL had to leave before the final battle so I'll have to find out later what happened.
(You know it's your character when you start a sentence in the third person and slip into the first)
Otherwise, I threw two adult bronze dragons at my friday group. Managed to drop the caster but the monk and the monsterous barbarian who is "3-5 levels behind" didn't take anything close to "dangerous amounts of damage" and in inadvertent revenge, the caster kept dropping aoes on my kobold army that was put there for flavor, so I had to GM magic rez them so they could get up and begin worshiping the barbarian.
Yes, I know, Metallics are typically good aligned, and these two were, but in our setting morality lines are a lot more grey, PLUS I never said the PARTY was good aligned, did I? It has been a challenge, I assure you.

Also, I know I'm working on a musical because I wake up with the soundtrack playing in my head and it's would be annoying but it helps me remember the choreography so I can judge what needs tweaking.
I'm starting to wonder if working on anything creative inspires you because I wouldn't say it's particularly inspiring, yet, we're working on it, it should be awesome and fun. But I am getting the jones to work on different things and I find it in odd proximity to my newest project.

AND, yes, I am playing Majora's Mask. Because I have a problem. No, I am not playing Bioshock, even though we own it, no I'm not watching Serenity Finally because I watched all of Firefly but for some reason never got around to watching the movie, no I am not transcribing my musical to the word doc like it needs to be, because I have a 64 bit fantasy J-origin PROBLEM!
See yall after 3 days *Wink*

Again. Again? Again!?

Since my WoW account is temp disabled, I found myself playing Ocarina of time . . . again. I know. It's just so good though! But you knew that. Now I'm debating going on to Majora's Mask . . . you know, just cause. Well, also because I really should get on that whole "working with my buddy Moose to come up with racial stats and other Pathfinder friendly mechanics so we can run a Hyrule setting Pen & Paper RPG game" and this would be great research.

And in other news that should not surprise anyone: I am hosting Panels at Fanime this year!!

Saturday, 8pm-10pm in Panels 4, "? in the H47!?: Nerdcore 101"
Where we will be listening to a little sampler and education presented and selected by yours truly as well as there is a VERY good chance for a special guest . . .

So, expect a Rai-healthy listening set. Spoilers.

And then! Once more, This Blog, in association with the Twilight Knights Renaissance Guild, presents:

Is It Real!?
Friday, 4pm-5pm in Panels 1
A blades basic panel on how to differentiate display from functional, cheap from high quality, and a little extra about steel info on top of all that.

So keep informed here, on twitter, or even on FB if you got me on there, I should have a MemeOrable done by the end of the week. But don't expect too much, as I mentioned earlier last week, EVA 3 hits on the 24th, and I'm not sure I can wait till Fanime to watch it. Just saying.

Oh yeah! Steam Powered Giraffe is also playing at Clockwork Alchemy that same weekend, I'll be hitting that up, you best believe. What!? You don't know SPG!? EDUCATE THYSELF!
Later H47ites!

MemeOrable: Deadpool Veme

So, Deadpool is awesome.

If you don't feel this is true, I'm not sure we can ever be friends if you don't understand how Deadpool can NOT not be awesome. Failing this, Chimichangas.

Also, Con's are usually a lot of fun, if you do them right at all. SO, let us mix the two, thank you D. Piddy

DP V Fanime 2012, cause I was there . . .

DP V Comic signing cause I listen to the two guys who write that Deadpool title play D&D all the time.

DP V WonderCon Anahiem 2013 Cause UP TO DATE THAT'S WHY!

And in the words of my fave hero often mistaken for Spiderman . . .
"Bang Bang! BANG! BANG! Bangbangbang bang!"

Mad Animation Game

Hey guys are you ready to hear things you probably already knew were true?
Okay: The New Eva is AWESOME but my overdeveloped sense of nostalgia won’t let me say it’s better than the original series and movie, Archer is probably the best animated TV series out of the U.S. intended for a “mature” audience, and Big O is one of the best slash-fics to ever be produced.

For real though, when I started watching Neon Genisis: Evangelion 1.11 at Fanime a couple years back I was like “oh cool, a remake in ‘movie’ format with some touch ups, that’s cool.” I had NO IDEA!! Like an idiot I walked out and didn’t realize until a year later that it was a reboot/retelling/reimagining. It’s so good. I like how they upped the pacing to match the movie format and just SHOW/tell you some of the things you’re supposed to figure out. Although, in retrospect I did a lot of research after watching the original so I might just be that READY for the show. And of course the fanservice is really nice, although there was a time or two when I thought to myself “if this is fan service, it’s kind of fucked up . . . yup, it’s EVA. Hawt.”
I found myself trying to guess how they would do certain things as I was trying to mentally account for promo’s I had seen and fanart I had come across. And then at a certain point in 2.22 (I’ve only watched 1 & 2, I’m waiting for 3, like most of the U.S.) I gave up entirely and just started watching and enjoying. It was excellent.

As for Archer, I would always watch when I caught a random episode here or there and found It thuroughly entertaining, as did T1nk. Then, at some point the discussion to cosplay as characters from the show came up, as I love “easy” cosplays, or at least cosplays that are similar to what I wear on a regular basis (dress shirts, ties, slacks, lab coat/dress coat). Next thing you know I got netflix playing through every episode.
So good. Ants, danger zone, yuuup, Woodhouse, Stirling’s obsession with Burt Reynolds, as well as his sweater fad. The breast cancer arc as well as the Russia Arc really put me in touch with the characters and there was one twist/gag that I was JUST on the edge of being REALLY upset about, but I really got the feeling I was investing too much in the show, and the show simply reminded me what kind of story it told.
I can see if people are put off by the art, or maybe the gags aren’t their bag, and maybe someone would be even more put off then I, but I guess that’s why I love it. It pushes all my buttons just right.

Finally, I watched the first few Episodes of Big O, up to ep. 5 I think. Man. I like it, it tickles all sorts of nostalgia buttons. It's got that jazz/blues soundtrack that reminds me of Cowboy Bebop, as well as some of the songs have an early nineties feel that take me back. The art style has that great art deco flavor that's part noir, but for me, mostly reminds me of Batman the animated series. So far it's got a gothy android chick with snark, something I have a soft spot for, snarky goth ladies, less so androids, and a recurring lady who is also entertaining. Of course giant robots, but some of them have mystery to them, it's quite engaging, if sometimes predictable, although not too blatant, there has been a good twist or two. There's also a great overall mystic? magic? metaphysical? weird? theme largely thanks to the whole "everyone has amnesia from about half a generation back, but sometimes people remember, for no reason." I dig it. For T1nk & I it is now our "we watch this together and aren't aloud to watch it without the other" (along with Strip Search, oh man, soo good) so we will see when I get to watch more.

Oh yeah, want to watch along with me, so to speak, Eva 3.33 DVD is supposed to be released the 24th of this month and Archer has up to season 3 complete on Netflix, season 4 started on my birthday of this year, so HA! And as for Big O, it's a fourteen year old anime, you're on your own on that one.

Punk -tuation & PAX East 2013 twitching

This is being written on a word doc because I don’t know what these shenanigans are with the wifi. Although I don’t think there is wifi. Apparently I complain too much.

Anyway! Sorry about the unscheduled Hiatus. Still working on my new schedule acclimation since I’m inconsistent at The Nerd Store plus adding districts to my Substituting pool.

But enough of all that “stalker fuel” lemme get into some nerdy shit shall we!? (Speaking of nerdy. You know that that symbol – “!?” has a name!?! It’s called . . . an Interobang. Isn’t that awesome? It’s called what it looks like, sort of, but maybe a bit backwards, cause it’s all like “BANG! Exclamation point! And then Interrogation – question mark?” Awesome right? I still don’t think it beats the ampersand for me though. Love me that “and” symbol. Ha! Never ending tangent time . . .

Speaking of ampersands, that reminds me of Tycho from Penny Arcade ‘cause he got a large sort of paperweight/book-end/desk ornament of a large ampersand statue. And being one of my favorite wordsmiths, or should I use wordwright, well I guess wright doesn’t work so well as a wright creates the thing whereas a smith forges things out of other things . . . hrmm. Well whatever, I was watching the PAX East Twitch feed of the first Q&A and there was a great little occurrence at 1 hour & 30 mins . . .
Yay new words, right? Alright, tangent over.)
Well, I guess that was purdy freakin Nerdy, right?
While we’re there I might as well mention how you should watch the “make a strip” panel from day 2 morning and then the concerts lateron in the same feed. Frontalot rocked it, followed by JoCo rockin a lot of myfavorite hits it was the bestest, then Paul & Storm did their thing. And THEN, I still need to watch the day 3 feed specifically for the Lady Panel (I am all over the whole “nerd girl” issue and still ravenous for more insight) followed by the day 3 Q&A with Gabe & Tycho.
As a matter of fact, lets watch it together shall we?

Watch live video from PAX East 2012 on TwitchTV

MemeOrable: HarleMeme Shake

I have mentioned the Harlem Shake Meme in a previous post AND I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT!!!
The "Harlem Shake" as a dance is a sort of Ethiopian dance that was modified into a dance that also reflected alcohol shakes which was then featured on some rappers music video, it doesn't seem to be relevant to the actual meme.
What DOES seem to be relevant is a fantastic similarity of the ORIGINAL VIDEO

to another older meme "Norway's Crazy Humping Men"

which is awesome for all the same reasons and maybe a few more.
IF you want THEE SONG check this out . . .

And there is even an online FLASH GAME!
Some of my favorite YouTubers got in on the action

EVEN my local Gothic Lolita crew had to get their Shake on!

And finally, here is a fantastic compilation

Oh wait, I am sorry, This Meme has passed on. Thank you network television. Please a moment of silence before you watch, The Last Harlem Shake . . . .
R.I.P. Harlem Shake

Doctor's Note

Yay Double Post Week. If I'm feeling fiesty we might even get a Meme-Orable up in here before next Tuesday. I know!, Crazy Talk.

BUT! I am sick and a little delirious but that's okay because THE DOCTOR IS TAKING CARE OF ME!

Thats right! A whole EP about Zelda and its NAME YO OWN PRICE! Get-it get-it!

Otherwise I have been distracted by Penny Arcade's Strip Search because I love it and T1nk has a serious girl crush on Erika Moen, who is a contestant. Other distractions include getting back into Magic the Gathering(Yes I've been watching these. We play them at work, it's awesome), trying to be a good Game Master to two games(read: bulding NPC's and puzzles & clues every week) as well as reading a good friends original manuscript.
So, staying busy and staying Nerdy, I will try to expound upon them and so forth in the future, give you that insight that I THINK you're here to get.
And if you want some real deep shit, here, this should make you cry, I need to see this as soon as I can, check the trailer . . .

Tardyness

I don't have a tumblr, but the pic matches the title. She's up to some serious business in case you hadn't heard.

I'm sorry guys for last week, but um . . . TOO BAD!
It was T1nk's week so I spent it catering to her needs and in between work and teaching stage combat AND pounding pavement for FURTHER employment opportunities. so instead . . .

I GIVE YOU THIS!!!

And in case that's not BADASS enough for you, here is something to tide you over for those of us who don't have Heart of The Swarm yet

Not Quite a 3rd Part 2

What the hell is this part two business? Dont read my blog eh? HERE'S PART 1!
Mega Ran & Doctor Awkward @ the DNA lounge!
My Two days of Awkward continued from Sunday into Monday.
I rolled up to The City and strolled up to DNA and made it up the steps with a few minutes to spare.
Dr. Awkward kicked it off with great aplomb and style.
Honestly, I'm not sure if I can continue to write about certain artists performances when all I can say is "great, awesome, WHOO!" about their sets.
AND Int80 IS NOW A BAY AREA HOMIE AND HELPED PERFORM "KUNG FU"

 DURING AWKWARD'S SET!!!!!!!
After that I found my date for the evening, a good friend of mine, Mac. I tasked her to pick targets and I would be her wingman for the eve. Apparently she wasn't too taken with my first choice for her, probably for the best.
While A_Rival rocked it I began my Merch-table networking/schmoozing/fanboying. And Urizen also went crazy! Very metal.
I snagged a copy of Black Materia because I didn't realize the day before that the Album "Black Materia" had a white cover, oops. It's cool, Random signed it for me!
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLLg48MfeUZF6zuKzPM2giR8z1q0WNwDHlHiQsYM9rFd4wY_Cz0rWQUnEHfk2ScADndmeXDyfKSgWZqaJkreYtcRLXGFIWfG2_oP_oCSVVw7LBzkFNGV8QFhU8OYF237MAEtbohrX65Bg/s1600/mms_picture-785849.jpg
Black Materia: Signed by Random, in a super cool DVD case
I then scoped the tour poster and had to have that happen, Random then tasked me with with collecting signatures of every performer present. I did not succeed but I did get a few.
NES in The West Tour 2013: signed by Radnom, Dr. Awkward, Dj DN3, & Special guest Int80

But I also had a bit of clever the day before in thinking, "oh man, I really like getting shirts and CD's signed but they sort of hard to show off and be like 'look at this cool thing with cool things on it!' and then have then get destroyed/washed repeatedly . . ." But then I was like . . "ooh, maybe I should have them sign MY NES! - - - No, that's dumb, it's hard to carry it around, if you drop it, hard to show people as they'd have to be in it's presence . .  I KNOW! I have extra copies of old NES game, I can fit it into a large pocket and even if I drop it or whatever, it has less mass and wont break into a million heavy peices! BRILLAINT!"
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7eKz1Kn6Ipmf1Wfroq1WXbw7G3jXA29GKl6t4jXciHzujaQSX0GoMek0-ezH8_Dmq2TsJUYBWfYfB0vh_A4CwnPH8iacuZgPGmVbFjiYdeqfq6UGoBv2eP4g-odFXVNsEDELDF8BJ9hg/s1600/mms_picture-774704.jpg
Harmless NES cartridge?
NO! Nerdcore Signature Transportation device!
I have some serious stalking to do now, I need ALL THE NAMES emblazoned onto this one Cartridge!
I then wanted to straight up donate to Dr. Awkward because sometimes music appears online and I want to honestly buy it but am broke at the time. So seeing these guys live is my opportunity to be like, "I have monies today, take them so I can not feel guilty 'choosing to pay 0.00 dollars' on Bandcamp when I really want to give you 15 and get a full CD in a jewel case, ya heard?"
And Doc Awk, humble as always was like, "nah man, take some merch for your cash!" So I snagged a mixtape sampler, which I gave to my sister (she LOVES MC Frontalot's "Start Over" yeah, that's right, my sister likes Nerdcore deep cuts, I'm so Indy) and a shirt THAT ISNT EVEN AVAILABLE ONLINE! See?
Zombie Shredder!
And then, as Bit Brigade started their AWESOMENESS I got a call that said I should head home, which turned out a good thing as 101 was shrunk down to ONE LANE! I don't give a fuck that it was 11pm on a Monday night it's 101 AND IT WAS ONE LANE!?!?!? Oh yeah, I didn't get any of the sigs from Urizen because they were post performance and I like to give performers some time to breathe and come down before I start bombarding them with fanboyness.
But Otherwise, the show was a blast and I can't wait to see any of these guys again on-stage or off as Nerds be Nerds and we should all hang out sometime.
P.S. I'm not gonna say anything is official or even "in the works" or anything, I'm just gonna say the words . .  which sound fun and may not mean anything at all . . .
Doctor Awkward at Fanime
I'm just gonna leave that there and TRUST me, I will let you know if any combination of the above comes to any sort of fruition.
Thanks again for reading H47ites!
And here's some vid from their show in so cal before the weekend I saw them...

Not Quite a 3rd Part 1

TWO NIGHTS OF AWKWARD! Also, master lyrical educator Mega Ran!
Day one was in my favorite metropolitan areas SAN JOSE!, next to one of my favorite centers of learning, SJSU.
This concert was a bit unique from the typical venues that "small bands" perform in as this was at ROCKAGE SJ an awesome video game and Indie music fest that goes the entire weekend (ferreals gonna attend the next one). This year it was held at the San Jose Woman's Club, an awesome 20s-30s style building tucked up past SJSU.
I had it all planned out, I even made a facebook event (for any of you who know me personally you know how much I LOATHE Facebook, so, big deal) and I was gonna roll down there and be boss cause, ya know, home turf, PARTY! Little did I realize in my ignorance of cultural diversity, it was also Chinese New Year and everyone else had plans. But WHATEVA, I slow rolled around the place a couple times blasting Zealous1 looking for parking but decided to park in one of my favorite parking garages and strolled over to the event. "First 50 at the door receive free Wii Guitar!" I was among those first 50, B-day present for my Sister! (I no have Wii, she do).
I thought I'd be there a little early so I could see Doctor Awkward and then watch MegaRan's set. APPARENTLY Mega Ran went up first and was the followed up by Doc. I think it had something to do with the fact Ran had to get to the Grammys. So I got to see Random's set first and then watched a very intimate set by Awk. Would you like to watch it!?
HERE!!!! is the Twitch.tv feed of it plus the other acts that played that day and some interviews, all kinds of fun. check it!
After Awk's Set I camped the merch table for some quality time to chat. So many questions and of course, as soon as you get there, you forget them all.
It's cool, talked with DJ DN3, a pro producer and all around cool cat, while grabbing some swag, but the main event of this trip was the LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 15(13) special box set of Doctor Awkwards Discography!
I have friends who are terribly averse to unboxing videos so here are unboxing PICTURES! Check it out.

Wii guitar (& Taylor Swift face plate), Dr. Awkward Discography AND White Materia
White Materia is several remixes/mash ups of Black Materia as well as other FFVII music
Like mainstream beats but cant stand the lyrics? SOLVED! ty DJ Nerd 42!

Diggin the Tron inspired W/Deathly Hallows front cover!
Title Spine! (yes, its a VHS box. I'm excited)
It IS a VHS with cryptic messages!

Sweet, a little light cycle in a custom gutted VHS shell, ha!

Its a USB light cycle. METAL!

IT GLOWS BLUE JUST LIKE MY SPECIAL EDITION SCII TAG! WHHOO!!!
But H47!? How was the show?
I'll tell you. Fun! I'll be honest, it had a "wierd" vibe as it was like RIGHT after lunch ("morning" for most nerds. amirite!?) and there weren't a lot of people at the event yet as it was earlier in the day BUT, consummate professionals all, Random & Doctor Awkward gave a full 100% for the hardy few of us who came out to see them specifically.
I'm glad to pass the few bucks I could to Random, DJ DN3, & Doc Awk to show my appreciation for coming out to my home town and hope they come back again as I hear tell SJ has a thriving indie scene that welcomes all sorts of acts.

STAY TUNED FOR PART 2! . . . .

GET DOWN!

I am way more busy than I had any right to believe I should be this busy and I have like FOUR different posts I woul like to take the time to crack out. Two of them are about attending the NES in the West tour with MegaRan, DJ DN3, Doctor Awkward and URIZEN.

So, until I have more than 20 mins to dedicate to that, here are some things I've come across that are AWESOME!

Since it's technically Valentine's day I thought this would be cute, but honestly I would have posted it anyway because for some reason I could not stop grinning the entire time I watched it. Bravo!

This looks awesome and AFTER I finish writing the blog posts (so, who knows when) I will click through the links to find out more about this group. Until then, enjoy . . .

And finally, but definitely not the last time, I'm sure. HARLEM SHAKE!
THANKS TO DEADPOOL!

I honestly can not get enough of these videos. . . Here's another

I think the sexy beat, plus the absurdity of the lone dancer doing "silly" moves, then the sudden pandemonium break at the drop. Maybe not, lemme double check . . . .

God that makes me think of Jubbles.
"Good job H47! You just missed the opportunity for an awesome MemeOrable!"
You shut your not-blog-writing-net-hole! I can STILL do a MemeOrable on this as I gave no more context then 3 awesome videos and some speculation. This dance comes from SOMEWHERE and so does that dance. So hA! Now I have FIVE posts that I wont finish. Thank you!

Thank you H47ites, for coming along. Hopefully next time in a "normal" post!

THINGS!

I know! I know. Almost two weeks, but don't worry. I FEEL IT! I feel like there may be things in the future for me to truly expound upon.
TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!
And since the only things I want to talk about are somewhat "serious" things and I promised a silly post, here are things I've found that I love and perhaps you have not come across all of them already.

Enjoy . . . .

Confession: I liked Sucker Punch.
And you should have as well!!!! Here's why.

 Boo-busters

And in a return to the ever present discussion about "girl stuff" I saw this awesome post from the Mary Sue
and I looked at the bow and thought. I would rock that bow even though it does have pink on it, it actually makes it cool. So there!
See!
In other news. IMMA GO SEE DOC AWKWARD TWICE THIS WEEK CAUSE I DON'T GIVE  SHIT THAT I'M BROKE!
Wanna know why?
THATS WHY!

Oh yeah, he's in SJ Sunday around noon, and then at DNA in the City Monday Night. Hit me up if you want to come along NERDLIFE!!!

Oh yeah, and there's this awesome thing . . .

And I realize in retrospect I could have broken these things into separate posts BUT FUCK YOU ITS MY BLOG and they Might not have been topical (THERE IS NO CREAM FOR THAT!) by the time it posted so there!
Later H47ites! I now have to flesh out a game I'm not ready for while jonesin to play wow while trying to be properly productive. We'll see how it goes.
