Watch Out!

Quick! You got five dollars? You were gonna go get a double-double at InNOut weren't you? Dude, that'll take like, ten minutes, plus gas, you'd have to put on pants. Look, go shuffle into your food storage area, pull out some chips/munchies, throw some PB/hummus on some toast and come back. OH! and grab a soda.
I Think I'd look at you the same way if I saw you in your skivvies
You back? good.
So, I've covered a few Web-Series in the past, and even gotten some feedback about them from the creators themselves. So, as I continually try to do with Nerdcore, here I present a bit of an "update through my eyes" of a few properties for some of you, my readers, who are kind of lazy or just joining us.

Journey Quest, which has captured the heart and mind of one of my party members, seems to be fully funded for season 2. You can keep appraised of events up on there blog, and there are some REALLY cool resources that are cooked up specifically for Pathfinder, which I have a strong hunch we'll be using. According to the kickstarter they will start filming next year, OR, if they receive more donations, they will produce more.

A glistening group, GOLD, continues along. Though I have not seen any substantial postings on the site since August, the mood is that of steady activity. Donations are made through paypal, and I can't wait for season two to see how the league play is realised.

Standard Action continues with standards in action as they continue to promote and fund raise.Just past their half way goal, there is only 2 months left until the indie go go site is finished. And if you want bang for no-bucks, these guys deliver. There have been no shortage of free plugs

& samples from this crew in order to get people to donate. Just imagine what they will do if they HAVE the funds. You should have seen what they did in season one, and although it started a bit out of order for myself, the amount of passion and superb production value kept me hooked. If that isn't incentive enough, the donation gifts are very entertaining and if you're into the series I'm sure you'll find use for the prizes.

So, since I'm going to be spending all MY money on stage combat training (two workshops in 2 months) AND hoping my car/computer/family members don't die, so that I can replace up to two of the previous, PLEASE!! for me, use three of those dollars to donate to each of these series, and then donate the other two as you see fit. Or . . I guess go grab a $1 menu item at a cheaper fast food joint. mmmm, I want Jack Taco's now . . . Later guys, Keep supporting small entertainment, its not the size that counts, it's how you use it!

Memeorable: Chess Meme Said Knock You Out

Chess boxing. Yes, it's a thing.

I had planned on doing a long elaborite post with witty puns and some sort of non-commital comentary that was vaguely chuckle worthy at best.

Fuck it, here. Try this if you really even care a bit.

If not, I'm sorry, at least I could introduce you to Let me Google That for You, which most of you probably already know about.

If you feel as satisfied as I do, too bad, try again next week, I might actually post something.

Late But Not Out

So, I spent the day with my little sister, attempted to move her nerd along by lending her my PS2, a stack of games, and telling her I would loan her more once she beat a couple.

We saw Gnomio & Juliet and it was adorable, I might be biased but I don't care. Shakespeare voiced by Patrick Stewart, Elton John Exec. Producing and provide ALL of the music for the movie, a flaming STRAIGHT flamingo, and Lawn gnomes come to life, hard not to have fun. We we're forced to see it in 3D as all other showings were out of the time frame, not worth it, But see it, I give it AT LEAST 3 pointy beards/hats out of Five, up to five on a good day.

Then, I attended one of my fiance's rehearsals in order to meet one of my future fight instructors and perhaps pick up a couple new moves and as she alluded, start on my training hours in order to be fully certified ASAP. It was great, I learned a bunch of new moves, very enriching. It was nice to see a lot of the sensibilities I was using were correct but the moves were different from what I had been trained on. I'm still processing what might be "wrong" or just not what she was trained on.
It will be an adventure as I learn from different masters all over, hopefully making myself that much more versatile.

Thanks for sticking with me, I hope to have a couple more stimulating posts before the end of the month, maybe something Star Wars related, or maybe even something to do with my private projects.

See ya Space Cowboys.

LEEROY Vs. Freak Out

Why I think Jenkins is brilliant but the kid shoving a remote in his hole is not, yet knowing full well, both are fakes.

I'm sorry if I have shattered all of your illusions, but yes, both were revealed as fakes.
Leeroy, by any wow player who was playing hardcore in vanilla.
Freak out, by Tosh.0

Just to refresh your memory

Lemme think about this for a second,
I'm willing to argue, that the Leeroy video is from a much more honest place than the kid was. L. Jenkin's is obviously a video of WoW players, playing WoW, and displaying a common occurrence in Azzeroth and it's denizens one interacts with. I guess it's a bit of self sado-masochism, watching the thing that happens all the time and you can't avoid it, and for SOME REASON you keep raiding/pvping with this guy. Also, I think it has something to do with the fact that we've all been this guy at some point, or desperately want to be. I know I have often yelled "(CLASS) ROULETTE!" and ran straight into a pat of elites or a boss and hit my aggro drop button (FD. Vanish, whatev.) It's a thrill to scream a battle cry and rush into mobs, its exhilarating.

The freak out kid, nah. I don't like the idea of a kids who get sooooo worked up that they have break downs. Especially when two kids set up a scenario where they fake it in order to gain internet fame. I've seen/heard actual freak outs over WoW, it's very, very sad to me on many levels.

MemeOrable: Meme-Man Outta You

What the hell is up with "Ill Make a Man Out of You"? (Sorry if I sounded like Seinfeld for a second there, but honestly, I question this.)

When and where did our collective consciousness decide this was an accepted meme to be filtered and parodied?

Forget it. I think I understand. This song is REALLY good. So, pick the vid that tickles you, or the "true vid" if you want the highest musical quality I've heard out of all of them, clear some room to get down to, make sure you're in a room where you can sing your lungs out without interruption, and blast it loud!

A Blog I read consistently, Frost Is The New Black put up a nice little thing:
"(February is February Album Writing Month! For 28 days, musically minded individuals write 14 songs. This year, my concept album will be about WoW parodies to popular songs.)

Track 2: I’ll Make Alliance Out of You (parody of “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan)"

as well as . . . .
